r.e.a.l was retained by the board of the Nitra Shul to produce a schematic design for its facilities in Boro Park, Brooklyn. Program includes Sanctuary, Lecture Hall, Library, Mikveh and Multi-Purpose Room.
The Sanctuary centers on the Ark and Bimah, located in a clerestory-lit, two-story space in the center. Wood bookshelves surround the perimeter, and safe egress, as well as required separation of the sexes is achieved with two strategically positioned stairs.
